Our physiotherapists assess and treat a range of musculoskeletal problems, including back pain, neck pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, sports injuries and difficulties affecting movement or physical function.
We also support people recovering from surgery or returning to exercise and sport. Treatment recommendations are based on your assessment, symptoms, activities and individual goals.

Physiotherapy is generally the most appropriate starting point when you have an injury, unexplained pain, weakness, restricted movement or require structured rehabilitation.
Sports Massage focuses more on muscular tension, physical recovery and the demands associated with exercise, sport or physically active work.
There can be some overlap, but the best appointment depends on your symptoms and goals.
No. Sports Massage is not limited to competitive athletes.
It may also be suitable for people experiencing muscular tension associated with regular exercise, physically demanding work or an active lifestyle.
A physiotherapy assessment may be more appropriate when your symptoms followed an injury, repeatedly return or involve significant weakness or reduced movement.
Choose Physiotherapy when you require a clinical assessment of pain, injury, weakness, restricted movement or reduced physical function.
Sports Massage or another massage treatment may be more appropriate when your main concern is muscular tightness, recovery or soft-tissue discomfort.
When you are uncertain, contact the team or submit a request through our bookings page and we can help direct you towards the most suitable appointment.
No GP referral is normally required when booking directly with Core Physio.
However, some private health insurance policies require a referral, authorisation number or other information before treatment begins. Check your policy or contact your insurer before arranging an insured appointment.
Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, health, activities and treatment goals. They may then assess your movement, strength and physical function to help identify the likely cause of the problem.
After the assessment, your physiotherapist will explain the findings and recommend a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan.
This may include advice, exercise, progressive rehabilitation and hands-on physiotherapy where appropriate.
Your first appointment primarily allows the physiotherapist to assess your condition and determine the most appropriate plan.
Treatment may begin during the same appointment when it is clinically appropriate and there is sufficient time following the assessment.
Your physiotherapist will explain the available options and answer any questions before treatment begins.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows the relevant area to be assessed and treated.
Shorts can be helpful for lower-body appointments, while a vest or loose-fitting top may be useful for neck, shoulder or upper-body treatment.
